Soomin joined CAN-Rac in July 2024 as Climate Finance Policy Analyst. Driven by her passion for climate justice, Soomin is committed to working towards a more equitable and climate-resilient future at the intersections of policy and advocacy. Having worked with various climate and policy initiatives, she supported youth across the world to lead climate solutions.
She has led efforts to advance climate justice and fostering more equitable climate decision-making spaces both nationally and internationally during her time at Youth Climate Lab, Global Center on Adaptation, UN Climate Change Adaptation Division, and on Parliament Hill. Soomin currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Starfish Canada and CPAWS Manitoba Chapter.
Soomin holds a Masters in Public Policy from the McGill Max Bell School of Public Policy and calls Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), Treaty 1 Territory (Winnipeg), and Busan, South Korea home. You can often catch her making zines or brewing new kombucha flavours.
