Malaika Collette

Malaika (she/her/elle) joined CAN-Rac in July 2024 as a Summer Research Assistant. She has spent many years in the climate field doing grassroots and youth-led organizing, and more recently worked with Environment and Climate Change Canada on the National Framework for Environmental Learning. She is passionate about climate justice, environmental learning, and advancing climate policy at all levels.

Malaika now lives on the unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory, what is now known as Ottawa, where she is doing her undergrad in Environmental Studies at Carleton University. When she is not working or following climate/political news, you can find her exploring new places in Ottawa, spending time with friends, and connecting with the land.
