Juliet Asikhia joined Climate Action Network Canada in July 2021 as the Operations Lead. Before joining CAN-Rac, she worked as technical advisor for a tech consulting company and volunteered as project coordinator with an environmental organization on unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory, currently known as Ottawa. She has worked with the European Union and several Western African Countries (Ghana, Congo and Nigeria) to promote environmental awareness and gender equality.
Juliet holds a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Law (Specialty in Natural Resource Governance) from University of Eastern Finland and a Bachelor’s from Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland. She has several years of experience working with not-for-profit and charity organizations in such roles as program and administrative coordinator and project manager to create grassroots environmental and climate change awareness, especially in vulnerable communities. She is passionate about using technology as a tool to create awareness on climate change issues and a sustainable society.
Juliet is based in Ottawa. When she is not working, she spends time with family and making new friends.
