Emily Lowan

Emily Lowan joined CAN-Rac in January 2023. Over the past six years, Emily has been embedded in the climate justice movement, implementing change through the leadership of successful campaigns, investigative research, movement building and policy advocacy efforts across Turtle Island. As an organizer, strategist and consultant, she has worked with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ Corporate Mapping Project, led Divest UVic’s successful campaign (2020-21) and convened the National Day to End Fossil Fuel Subsidies (2022).

Emily holds a BA in political science and environmental studies from the University of Victoria. Emily resides in Victoria, on the stolen territories of the lək ̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. She enjoys icy ocean swims, forest meandering, and toying with creative endeavours.
