On Tuesday, December 3rd, we at CAN-Rac were lucky enough to get to partner with LUSH Cosmetics, and benefit from their #GivingTuesday campaign. Alongside 4 other fantastic organizations focused on climate action (Alidos, The Sunrise Movement, ReTreet, and Amazon Watch) we were the recipients of 100% of the cost of all Charity Pot moisturizers sold that day – even more generous, LUSH matched the cost of each pot, doubling the funds going towards each of the 5 organizations. We’re thrilled to announce that the funds donated to CAN-Rac as part of this campaign will be entirely devoted to our Green New Deal efforts in 2020 – we can’t wait to tell you more about this in the new year!
Each Charity Pot moisturizer sold by LUSH is labelled with the name of an organization to make sure the purchaser knows where their dollars are going. The photo above is what was on the Climate Action Network Charity Pots (all of which sold out on Giving Tuesday). The photo we used was generously provided to us by our friends at 350.org Canada, who commissioned the image to be taken by photographer Abdul Y Malik at a Green New Deal #ChangeTheDebate action carried out by Climate Justice Edmonton this past summer.

We work alongside community members and other groups to raise our voices against the oppressive and colonial structures that contribute to climate change. Using methods like street theatre, direct action, banner drops, marches, and protests, we listen and share, challenge and defend, critique and promote, rage and celebrate — all together.
Climate Justice Edmonton operates in the heart of oil country, and as a result has come under intense scrutiny, policing, and abuse by the oil industry, and Jason Kenney government. To support their work, and all the good that goes along with grassroots climate justice organizing consider making a contribution to their crowdfunder.
A HUGE thank you to 350.org Canada, Climate Justice Edmonton, and Abdul Y Malik for helping to make our campaign such a success, and for the incredible work they do each and every day to fight for livable planet for all.
