Announcing our marquee event!
We Climate Action Networkers are thrilled to share that we’ll be partnering with the superstars at CCIC (the Canadian Council for International Cooperation) for a Wednesday night gala to knock your socks off!
It’s more important than ever that we acknowledge the common roots of the injustices changemakers across different civil society organizations are working to confront. This event will bring together Canada’s coalition to end global poverty with Canada’s coalition to end climate change for an unforgettable evening of storytelling, relationship-building, and resistance.
And there’s more!
Our first confirmed keynote speaker is George Marshall.
George Marsall is the author of Don’t Even Think About It: Why Our Brains are Wired to Ignore Climate Change and the co-founder of Climate Outreach, a group of Europe’s leading experts in climate change communications, working to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
George has spent the past 25 years working at all levels of the environmental movement, including many years in the US as a senior campaigner for Greenpeace US and the Rainforest Foundation.
Since its founding in 2004, Climate Outreach has become a widely recognized specialist in reaching new audiences. They have worked with trades unions, scouts, women’s organizations, churches, Rotary Clubs, and many government departments and councils.
George will close out ClimaCon on Friday, September 29th, by sharing some of his unparralled insight into how we can get our messages across with the most impact and reach. He’ll then be offering a late-afternoon workshop for a smaller group of heroes to dig into some of Climate Outreach’s most effective tools and strategies – stay tuned for more details!
