Climate Action Network nudged Canada’s best at COP21

Intro
At 8:30 a.m. on day one of the UN climate talks in Paris—a day that would soon see Prime Minister Trudeau, President Obama and other world leaders take stage —a freshly caffeinated group of Canadian climate-negotiation watchdogs began their daily morning huddle.
It was the first daily COP21 meeting of Climate Action Network — Réseau Action Climat Canada (or “CAN-RAC”) —a network of 100 Canadian organizations concerned about global warming.
Sitting in the meeting were academics, representatives of environmenties —Environmental Defence, David Suzuki Foundation and the Wilderness Committee among them —as well as labour, youth, and faith groups.
The Conference of the Parties (COP) summit itself was 23 years in the making since the Rio 1992 declaration and scientists have long said since that the world’s “carbon clock” has run out to prevent catastrophic climate dangers.
So these Canadians were determined to make sure this COP, this time, didn’t fail.
