0 This was a briefing updating the current status of the Emission Control Area (ECA) proposal for North American coastal waters and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency emission regulations for the Great Lakes. The note describes the new policies in which would see the reduction in the quantity of sulphur and nitrogen oxides in fuels used in ships by the year 2015.
The note also mentions Canada’s response to the new regulations in the form of a formal written letter of intervention on behalf of Transport Canada, through the Canadian embassy in Washington.
