DLA Piper and Alberta Government – Exhibit AB – Foreign Agents Resgistration Act

This document discloses the contract between lobbying firm DLA Piper and the Alberta Government. DLA Piper is paid $25,000 a month. DLA Piper’s duties include monitoring State level activities by providing « advice for dealing with initiatives that could impact our interests (e.g. the next Section 526) ». FARA is a disclosure statute that requires persons acting as agents of foreign principals in a political or quasi-political capacity to make periodic public disclosure of their relationship with the foreign principal, as well as activities, receipts and disbursements in support of those activities.
