Send letters to the federal government and let us know!
Letters posted so far
CAN Canada is looking for the best letters to federal politicians on the Harper government’s plans to deal with air pollution and climate change. Send your letters to CAN at info@climateactionnetwork.ca indicating:
- The federal politician you sent your letter to
- The date you sent your letter
- Your name, city, province and telephone number
The CAN editorial staff will read your letter and if we like it we will post it to our site. If we receive several letters we really like, we will select one at the end of the month and award that person a vintage Climate Action Tour 2006 t-shirt!

Please note that by sending your letter to CAN Canada, you are agreeing that it may be posted to the Climate Action Canada web site (climateactionnetwork.ca and reseauactionclimat.ca).
Letters may be edited for reasons of space or grammer. Letters posted to the site will include name, city and province (telephone numbers will not be posted).

2007
- September 17, 2007 - “... the Athabasca oil fields are as gargantuan as their appetites and footprints on our ecology"
- January 8, 2007 - “I hope that you will show some unity in addressing the frightening state of our environment."
- January 7, 2007 - “I suggest making Canada the first country in the world to introduce a citizen/consumer level carbon economy like the one Minister David Miliband is planning in the UK."
2006
- December 21, 2006 - “How will you lead Canadians to practice more conservation of energy, when we have a couple of generations who have grown up with constant access to cheap energy and now rely on an extremely wasteful lifestyle?"
- November 19, 2006 - “Unfortunately your government has done nothing to address the urgency of, as Kofi Annan put it so eloquently, 'the greatest threat to humankind now'."
- November 19, 2006 - “Canadians are very concerned about Climate Change as the evidence of its advance is undeniable now"
- October 28, 2006 - “I am sure the Minister for the Environment does not want to hear from me, a citizen in Vancouver, BC. However, I have an important message."
- October 27, 2006 - "I therefore urge you - no, I implore you - to focus hard in your caucus on the Canadian Government's moral responsibility to our children and to all living beings on Earth to treat Climate Change as the most serious threat our species has ever faced, and to act accordingly. It can be done without destroying our economy."
