Sommet International de la Jeunesse : Au-delà de Kyoto : C’est nous!
International Youth Summit : Beyond Kyoto: It’s us!

A coalition of Canadian youth environmental groups, in partnership with the Government of Canada, is holding an international youth summit that will bring Canadian and International young people together to engage the next generation in working to fight climate change.

26 participants from the Summit will be chosen to attend the "United Nations Climate Change Conference: Montreal 2005" as accredited observers. These individuals will act as the bearers of the Declaration by the Youth Delegation and ensure its dissemination.

School Tour Sessions: "Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol - My Turn to Get Involved"

November 14 to 25, 2005
ENJEU (ENvironnement JEUnesse Group) will use the opportunity provided by the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Montreal to meet with secondary school students from the region, using an interactive education approach. These sessions will help students better understand climate change, the Kyoto Protocol and issues to be discussed at the Montreal Conference so they can grasp the environmental and political issues involved in the "United Nations Climate Change Conference: Montreal 2005". The sessions will enable young people to understand the Kyoto Protocol, climate change and the working structure of international meetings.

"10,000 Drawings to Change the Future of Climate Change"
Until November 10, 2005
ENJEU is organizing a drawing competition in which young people are invited to illustrate actions they are prepared to undertake as part of the fight against climate change. As a way to ensure the voices of young people are heard, the 10,000 drawings submitted will be included in the delegate kits provided to conference attendees.

Environment for Youth at the Guy-Favreau Complex - "The Climate Village in Action"
November 27 to December 9, 2005
Everyone is welcome
For the two weeks of the Conference, the Guy-Favreau Complex will be transformed into the site of an exhibition and fair on the theme: "A World of Solutions". Representatives from governments, provinces, municipalities, industry, universities, etc. will be present to provide information on the actions they are taking to fight climate change.
This will also be the occasion for NGOs and Youth Groups to present collectively to the general public and international delegates the projects and actions they have set up or carried out, under the banner of "The Climate Village in Action"!
